Guidelines for Soil Investigation (SPT)

 Soil Investigation (SPT) ပြုလုပ်ရာတွင် လိုက်နာရမည့် သတ်မှတ်ချက်များ

Soil Investigation ပြုလုပ်ရာတွင် International standard များ၊ CQHP/HPBC နှင့် YCDC မှ သတ်မှတ်ထားသော စည်းမျဥ်းများကို လိုက်နာကြရပါသည်။

Borehole Depth

Shallow foundation အတွက် borehole depth အနည်းဆုံး 30-feet တူးရပါမည်။ Deep foundation အတွက်  z = 15 S^0.7 (where S is no; of storey including basement) ဖြင့် တွက်ရပါမည်။ သို့ပေမယ့် 3 consecutive level of boring depth မှာ minimum SPT N-value 40 ဆက်တိုက် ရမှ Boring ရပ်ရပါမည်။ ( CQHP, Sayar U Nyi Hla Nge) 

 တနည်းအားဖြင့် 

-Shallow Foundations (Buildings, Roads, Small Bridges)------10 ~15 m

-Deep Foundations (High-rise Buildings, Bridges, Piers, Industrial Projects)----- 20~40 m

-Pile Foundation Design -----Up to pile tip depth + 5 m

အနက်အထိ တူးကြပါသည်။

အနက်သတ်မှတ်ချက်ထားသလို SPT N-value ဖြင့်လည်း သတ်မှတ်ပြီး တူးခိုင်းတတ်ပါသည်။ ပုံမှန်အားဖြင့် SPT N-value > 50 ဆိုလျင် ရပ်နိုင်ပါသည်။ အချို့ requirement တွေအရ >100 အထိရိုက်ခိုင်းတတ်ပါသည်။ Borehole depth နှင့် SPT N-value ကို Structural Engineer သတ်မှတ်ချက်အတိုင်း ပြုလုပ်ကြရပါသည်။

Borehole quantity

 HPBC guideline အရ 2500-ft2 အောက် မြေကွက်အတွက် အနည်းဆုံး 2 points စမ်းရမည်။ 2500-ft2 နှင့် 5000-ft2 ကြား မြေကွက်များအတွက် အနည်းဆုံး 3 points စမ်းရမည်။ 5000-ft2 ထက်ပိုကျယ်သောမြေကွက်များအတွက် မူလ 5000-ft2 အတွက် 3 points နှင့် ပိုသောဧရိယာ 5000-ft2 တိုင်းအတွက်  1 point စီတူးရပါမည်။

Soil Report သက်တမ်းအား ၄ နှစ်အထိသာအကျုံး၀င်သည်ဟု သတ်မှတ်ထားပါသည်။ ၄ နှစ်ကျော်လျင် Soil Investigation ပြန်လည်ပြုလုပ်ရပါမည်။

Specifications to Be Followed During Soil Investigation (SPT)

When conducting soil investigations, international standards and regulations set by CQHP/HPBC and YCDC must be adhered to.  

Borehole Depth  

- For shallow foundations: A minimum borehole depth of 30 feet must be drilled.  

- For deep foundations: Calculate using the formula z = 15 S ^0.7, where S is the number of storeys (including the basement). However, drilling may stop if three consecutive levels at the boring depth achieve a minimum SPT N-value of 40 continuously. (CQHP, Sayar U Nyi Hla Nge)  

Alternative Guidelines:  

- Shallow Foundations (buildings, roads, small bridges): 10–15 meters.  

- Deep Foundations (high-rise buildings, bridges, piers, industrial projects): 20–40 meters.  

- Pile Foundation Design: Drill up to the pile tip depth + 5 meters.  

Borehole depth may also be determined based on SPT N-values. Typically, drilling can stop if SPT N-value > 50, though some requirements may mandate drilling until N-value > 100. Final depth must comply with the structural engineer’s specifications.  

Borehole Quantity  

Per HPBC guidelines:  

- For plots < 2500 ft²: Minimum 2 borehole points.  

- For plots between 2500–5000 ft²: Minimum 3 borehole points.  

- For plots > 5000 ft²: 3 points for the first 5000 ft², plus 1 additional point per extra 5000 ft².  

Soil Report Validity 

Soil investigation reports are valid for 4 years. Beyond this period, a new soil investigation must be conducted.
